Traveling across 35 states in 52 weeks: The incredible tour of the movie Sight

Reflecting on May 19, 2023, the film Sight began its journey in New York, marking the start of Dr. Ming Wang and the film Sight's nationwide tour. Over 12 months, the film traveled through 35 major states (cities) with significant Chinese populations. This marked the first time in American history that a film's protagonist toured the country with the movie. Wherever Dr. Ming Wang went, events included free screenings of the film Sight, testimonies, sermons, free eye consultations, and interactions with the audience through photos, autographs, and book signings.

The national tour of Sight was an unprecedented endeavor, serving not just as a film screening but as a cultural exchange and communication. During the tour, approximately 30,000 audience members experienced the film's charm firsthand. From borrowing venues and receiving enthusiastic volunteer help to audiences driving hours to attend a screening, every step highlighted the community's unity and support. Especially touching were the stories of those who, through the film, forged deeper connections with their families and young people who realized their academic dreams with Dr. Wang's help, adding multiple layers of meaning to the movie.

Dr. Ming Wang's wife, Mrs. Anle Wang, witnessed this process and shared with us: Every weekend, the couple would wake up at 3 a.m., drive to the touring city, and return on Sunday night to ensure Dr. Ming Wang could see patients on Monday morning. For 52 weeks a year, they maintained this schedule, demonstrating incredible perseverance and dedication. It is truly moving!
